Home, Car Struck by Gunfire Monday

Someone opened fire on a Peacock Road home and vehicle late Sunday, according to a sheriff’s report.

Two adults, a teen and a five year old were home at the time, the report said.

Multiple shots struck the home and a Mercury automobile around 9:39 p.m., the report said.

The shooting occurred in the 24000 block of Peacock Road, near Tabor City. Deputies recovered shells from a 9 mm and a .223.

No one was injured, and the case is under investigation.
