Break-in Causes Hundreds in Damage, Nets Pocket Change

Someone tore through a metal wall at a Tabor City business during an alleged beak-in, but only got away with a handful of change after causing hundreds of dollars in damage

Staff at Tar Heel Pickers in Tabor City contacted police Tuesday after discovering the theft. Tabor city police reported that the suspect tore through a metal wall near an HVAC unit to gain entry. Once inside, the thief took several dollars in dimes from a cash register and left.

The change was the only known property missing in the theft,  the report said. Damages to the wall were estimated at $500.
