Thieves Hit Cerro Gordo Store Three Times

Thieves targeted the Cerro Gordo Family Dollar multiple times over the course of several days, taking merchandise and even a cash register.

The sheriff’s office reported that someone stole an undetermined quantity of goods from the store at 7486 Andrew Jackson Hwy. on Nov. 9. Someone else took $100 in goods from the same store on Saturday around 7:30 p.m., according to reports.

An unidentified thief made off with the entire cash register from the store Sunday just after 9.m. Losses were estimated at $689.

Two other discount retailers were hit by thieves during the weekend, according to the sheriff’s office.

Someone stole $500 worth of beauty supplies from the Delco Dollar General on Cronley Road Saturday afternoon. Another thief took diapers and paper towels from the Fair Bluff Dollar General on Main Street just before 8 p.m. The merchandise was valued at $33.

It is not known if any of the thefts were connected.
