The man allegedly assaulted by a father and son on Christmas Eve now faces assault charges of his own.
Roger Hammonds, 29, of 5325 Princess Ann Road, Evergreen, was arrested on to counts of assault with a deadly weapon on Dec. 31. He was released on $1,500 unsecured bond, according to detention center reports.
The sheriff’s office reported that Hammonds and Justin Lake Walker, 20, were arguing over car parts, and Walker tied to punch Hammonds. Walker left but returned a short time later with his father, Victor Walker, 49. Justin Walker then allegedly struck Hammonds in the head with a metal car part, and the two began fighting again. Victor walker then is reported to have drawn a gun on Hammonds. He father and son then began beating Hammonds together.
Hammonds was treated at Columbus Regional for lacerations.
The Walkers were arrested Dec. 24. Victor walker was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, assault by pointing a gun and possession of a firearm by a felon. His bond was set at $25,000. Victor Walker gave his address as 5438 Gore Trailer Rd. Whiteville.
Justin Walker was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and released on a $25,000 secured bond. His address was listed as 7108 Princess Ann Rd., Evergreen.
The father and son obtained warrants from a magistrate on Tuesday (Dec. 26).
