Dr. Lawrence Lockear will be the featured speaker at the March 9 meeting of the Southeastern Genealogical society.
Locklear is the author of Who’s Your People?: A Brief History of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. He is currently an adjunct associate professor of American Indian studies at UNC-Pembroke, and director of the Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity.
The Southeastern North Carolina Genealogical Society meets this month at Whiteville Missionary Alliance Church Fellowship Hall, 623 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, on Saturday, March 9.at 2 p.m. Some members and visitors arrive early to share family histories. Everyone is welcome.
