President Joe Biden will visit Wilmington Thursday to draw attention to pollution problems along the Cape Fear.
Leadership with the New Hanover Democrat party said the visit is “presidential,” not a campaign stop. Biden is expected to tour Cape Fear Public Utilities Authority for more information about PFAS and other so-called forever chemicals.
Former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, postponed a rally at New Hanover Regional Airport April 20 due to severe weather. That rally is set to be rescheduled, but a date has not been announced.
There have been no formal announcements of public events surrounding Biden’s visit.
Trump and Biden are expected to face each other in the presidential election in November.
