Bladen County Sheriff’s Captain Daniel Clark died suddenly at his home Monday.
Sheriff Jim McVicker said in a press release that the 14 year veteran of the BCSO had served in virtually all branches of the agency. Clark started in patrol, and at various times was a K-9 officer, narcotics investigator, and detective. He was promoted to captain in January 2022.
The sheriff also asked that members of the public continue to pray for the department, but not to ask deputies or the office for details
Clark also spent time with Bladen EMS, and was a member of Bladen’s tug-of-war team at the Columbus First Responders Day. He frequently participated in school programs, both with BCSO canines and as a volunteer reader.
Final plans are incomplete at this time.
