City of Whiteville water customers no longer need to boil their water.
”Based on the laboratory analysis of water samples collected from the City of Whiteville on June 7, 2024, water users are hereby notified that it is no longer necessary to boil water used for human consumption,” the city posted on social media this morning. “The system has resumed normal operations.”
The advisory was announced after a pressure loss Friday morning. City crews manually returned pressure to the system to avoid possible problems with the automated system. Columbus Regional activated its emergency water supply, and water was provided for nursing homes while the system was being restored and tested.
