Heroes Cruise-In Saturday in Tabor City

First responders from across the county will be honored Saturday at a cruise-in, barbecue cookoff and parade in Tabor City.

The second annual Heroes Cruise-In Parade will start at 4 p.m. Classic cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome along Main Street. Fire department, law enforcement and EMS are invited to display their vehicles before the parade.

At 7 p.m., organizers hope to have an even bigger procession of emergency vehicles than last year. All participants are encouraged to run their lights and sirens in memory of those who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.

New to the Heroes Cruise-in this year is a barbecue cookoff. The cookoff is open to individuals and groups vying for bragging rights. Entry fee is $100.
