Someone took a carport from a residence near Cerro Gordo, according to sheriff’s reports.
Janice Nash, who owns the property, contacted the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office after a real estate agent told Nash that the 12-by-20 foot carport was missing.
Nash lives on Florida, the report said. The report did not specify when the carport was last known to be secured. The report noted that a hammock had also disappeared from the property.
The property is located in the 19000 block of Porter Swamp Road.
The case is under investigation.
