An altercation involving as many as ten people devolved into gunfire near Tabor City Sunday.
No one was injured in the incident, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies were called to the 1300 block of Clyde Norris Road around 10 p.m. The 911 caller said shots had been fired at a vehicle.
When deputies arrived, the report said there was a “heated dispute” involving ten people. Jolene Johnson was detained after she allegedly became combative and refused to follow instructions from deputies trying to “de-escalate the situation,” the report said.
The investigation showed that the dispute began at a home in the 1800 block of Shug Norris Road.
A man allegedly shot at a vehicle operated by Norvonna Skeeter as she was leaving. Johnson reportedly followed Skeeter to Clyde Norris Road and continued the fight.
Johnson was charged with resist, delay and obstruct an officer. She was released on a $1,000 unsecured bond. Her address was listed on detention center records as 1309 Clyde Norris Road.
Additional charges are pending in the case.
