The man who kidnapped and raped a teenager has been sentenced to serve up to 28 years in prison.
Frederick Chancy lured the girl into his car and took her to a home near Bladenboro, where he raped her, according to testimony in Bladen County Superior Court Tuesday. The 15-year-old girl, who knew Chancy, was in her yard when he kidnapped her. He took her to an address near Bladenboro, where he raped her. The victim managed to escape and call 911 from a neighbor’s home. The resident called 911.
Chancy pleaded guilty in superior court yesterday to second degree rape and kidnapping.
Superior Court Judge C. Ashley Gore sentenced Chancy to 180-336 months in prison. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender, to enroll in satellite-based monitoring for life, and to have no contact with the child for remaining period of his life.
Investigators with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office responded, along with Bladen County EMS, to assist the girl. Detective Andrea Dicicco with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office lead the investigation with the assistance of the State Bureau of Investigation Crime Laboratory Division.
Investigators, along with the assistance of the Bladen County Hospital’s SANE Nurse, and staff with Carolyn’s Kaleidoscope Child Advocacy Center in Whiteville were able to collect evidence that led to the successful prosecution.
The state was represented by Chief Assistant District Attorney Allan R. Adams.
