Longtime Tabor City Town Manager Al Leonard has a new title: trustee. Leonard is now a member of the board of trustees at Southeastern Community college. He served as manager for Tabor as well as administrator for several towns in the county before retiring. He is still capital projects director for Tabor City and Redevelopment Director for Fair Bluff.
Today’s news is all about the weather. Columbus County remains in a moderate drought, despite the rains we have seen this week. Conditions are improving – but Sunday could be a bit tricky. After heavy rains Saturday, there’s the potential for strong to severe storms across our area Sunday.
Chadbourn Police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg Sunday. The victim was found on Jackson Street by CPD after a shotspotter call. He was transferred to Novant New Hanover with serious injuries.
