One Hurt in Log Truck Wreck

Traffic is finally clear on N.C. 410 north of Silver Spoon Road after a collision between a pickup and a logging truck.
Trooper W. Bracey of the Highway Patrol said the crash was reported at 9:44 a.m. The driver of the pickup, a 79 year old male, apparently failed to stop at the stop sign at Arthur Collier and N.C. 410 North. He struck an empty logging truck headed north, striking the truck on the fuel tanks and causing the trailer to slew into a roadside ditch, blocking the roadway.
DOT crews spread dirt and absorbents on the roadway to trap the leaking diesel fuel, he said. The roadway was closed for hours during the cleanup.
The pickup diver sustained a laceration to his head, Bracey said, but did not appear to have any other injuries. The log truck driver was unhurt.
