Rifles, shotguns and narcotics were seized during a raid Wednesday near Whiteville, the sheriff’s office said in a press release. Danny Mitchell Williams, 55, of 93 Fox Street was held on a $150,000 secured bond, charged with multiple felonies.
Waterfall Estates in County Water District Two is under a boil advisory. Crews are making emergency repairs which require that flow be reversed. Any water used for consumption should be boiled for one minute.
A cooking fire Wednesday night caused major damage to a Whiteville home. No one was injured, but the fire damaged the kitchen and attic areas of a home on Creighton Street. Quick work by the Whiteville Fire Department prevented the fire from spreading into the rest of the home.
