Family Searching for Missing Man Discovers Body

Relatives of Ervin Hakeem Johnson found a body thought to be that of the missing man Wednesday morning.
Johnson, 25, disappeared from a residence around 3 a.m. on Feb. 13, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office. His mother reported him missing Tuesday. Family members were concerned because left home wearing only shorts and a crop top, without his wallet, phone, or bankcard.
Relatives found a body on Bermuda Bay Lane near Tabor City Wednesday morning. Family and acquaintances publicly said the body was that of Johnson.
Chief Deputy Jerome McMillian of the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office said the body of a male was discovered, but did not confirm the identity or location. He said the sheriff’s office and State Bureau of Investigation are working on the case. The State Bureau of Investigation also confirmed that a body was found, but said identification is pending an autopsy. The body has been transferred to the State Medical Examiner’s office to determine a cause of death.
Johnson was a practicing homosexual and regularly wore women’s clothing, according to the missing person’s report. Photos on Johnson’s social media pages show him in heavy makeup, jewelry and female clothing. He identified as female on social media, using the names Ervianna and Baydee.
The SBI and the sheriff’s office said the investigation is continuing.
