Here’s your Bottom Line for today…

A strong area of low pressure located off the mid-Atlantic coast will continue to pull north and east and away from the area. Wrap-around moisture from the west will spin an area of very light snow showers across the state this morning. Don’t get too excited, though, because there’s a lot of dry air higher in the atmosphere, particularly in the dendritic growth zone, which I discussed yesterday. So whatever snow showers that move through will be fleeting, light, and of no significance.

A large, sprawling area of high pressure will drop down from Canada, stretch across our area tonight into Friday and Friday night, and then off the coast over the weekend.

A COLD WEATHER ADVISORY is up for late tonight into early Friday. Low temperatures will drop into the upper teens across the county, some areas down to about 15°F. North to northwest winds will bring our wind chill values down to between 5°F and 10°F above zero.

Reminder that the warming center will be open in Whiteville at the Facts of Life Church on North Lee Street.

A dramatic warming trend begins by Sunday and continues into next week, with sunny/dry weather continuing. Our next weather system will come with a cold front late in the work week.

Short, sweet, and to the point. For a change, there’s not an awful lot to talk about.

That’ll do it for today. Thanks for reading, and as always, take care!
