Malik Wilder, 29, of 112 Covington Lane, Apt. C., Whiteville is being held under no bond. He was charged with firing into an occupied vehicle during a gunfight outside Fun-ctionz in Whiteville. The business was operating illegally as a gathering spot when a fight broke out during the early morning hours of April 13. Multiple shooters exchanged gunfire in the 900 block of Madison Street and at the Lewis Smith parking lot.

The business was shut down for safety violations by mid-afternoon on April 13. The owners had previously been warned about allowing gatherings at the business.

Kapri McMillian, 34, was arrested in Lumberton days later. He is also charged with the murder of Jaquez Cribbs about eight hours after the shootout on Madison Street. Samantha Crawford, 34, of Lumberton was also charged with firing into an occupied vehicle during the Functionz incident. Crawford is out on $2,500 secured bond. McMillian’s bond was set at $25,000 on the new charge, but he is still being held under no bond for the murder.

Ireyhanna Kennethia Renee Sinkler, 23, was charged with felony conspiracy, resisting an officer, fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping and multiple traffic charges after the Friday chase. She is being held under no bond pending additional charges. Sinjler has not been charged in connection to the Functionz gunfight.

Whiteville Police contacted the sheriff’s office Friday night after Sinkler allegedly fled a traffic stop. The sheriff’s office said Sinkler fled down Pine Log to Georgia Pacific Road, onto Chadbourn Highway and into Chadbourn, where Chadbourn Police and deputies joined the chase.
Sinkler headed out N.C. 410 North and got onto U.S. 74 west then took N.C. 242 to Old 74 at Evergreen.
“While traveling at speeds up to 72 mph in a 55-mph zone, the vehicle repeatedly crossed the centerline and nearly collided with oncoming traffic on two occasions,” the report said.
Chadbourn Police deployed tire deflation devices near Birdcage Estates, but Sinkler kept going back into Chadbourn, running a stop sign and a stoplight, the report said. She then turned onto Wilson Street and stopped in the 300 block of East Third Street, where Wilder and Sinkler fled on foot. They were captured after a brief foot pursuit.
Two juveniles were in the car during the chase, the report said. They were unharmed, and turned over to their guardians.
