The sheriff’s office said that Vice-Narcotics Detectives began looking into Stephens after a series of complaints by area citizens who suspected illegal drug activity. On April 30, Narcotics and Investigative Division personnel raided the home. In addition to illegal narcotics, the report said $5,000 in cash was seized.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Division remains committed to aggressively pursuing individuals involved in the illegal drug trade, Sheriff Bill Rogers said in a press release. “These dangerous substances are not only highly addictive—they devastate families, destroy futures, and endanger entire communities.

“The mission of our Vice/Narcotics team is not only to disrupt the flow of illegal drugs in our county but to eradicate it altogether,” said Rogers. “We’re focused on protecting our neighborhoods and preventing these harmful influences from reaching future generations. This work is about building safer communities and giving people a chance to live free from the grip of addiction and criminal behavior.”
