Deputies have arrested a suspect who allegedly put a woman in the hospital after abeating Thursday.
Roy Dale Jones, 56, was held under $2,500 secured bond. He is charged with property damage, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and assault on a female. His address was listed as 77 Alton Singletary Rd., Whiteville.
The sheriff’s office was called to Lisa Long’s home on Gaston Sellers Road on Thursday after Jones allegedly punched and kicked Long, and hit her with a piece of wood. She was transported to Columbus Regional for treatment.
Jones was arrested Sunday.
