The courthouse square in Whiteville will be closed today while paving crew try to beat the forecast thunderstorms.
Emergency Services Director Hal Lowder Jr. said he was contacted this morning about the change in plans.
Court and county employees will have to come in on Washington Street and turn left into the parking lot. Other motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
The closure will continue for several days.
