The sheriff’s office is investigating after someone illegally took out a mortgage on a Smyrna Road property.
The victim of the fraud told detectives after he was notified by the Veterans Administration that someone had taken out a loan in his name through United Mortgage.
A woman out on bond on trespassing charges was arrested Tuesday after allegedly stealing a drink from a store where she had previously been banned. Amber Muse, 48, was charged with misdemeanor larceny, second degree trespassing and and resisting an officer.
Elbert Lee Freeman, age 39, of Elizabethtown is being sought after allegedly stabbing two people and stealing a car in Bladen County. Freeman is presumed to be armed and dangerous, according to the sheriff’s office. Anyone with information about Freeman is asked to contact the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office at 910.862.6960.
