Whiteville Police have charged a man with murder and attempted murder after Friday’s shooting at Sawmill Apartments. Andre Lionel Barr, 41, is in the county detention center under charges of murder and attempted murder, WPD Chief Paul Rockenbach said in a press release.
The new Lewis Smith Park in downtown Whiteville will cost around $1.3 million to complete. Council on Tuesday will review the bids on the project, which is set in stages for paving, the bandshell, grounds and facilities.
