Four more residents have died since the last county report.
Four additional deaths in Columbus County have bee attributed to COVID-19, according to the Health Department.
Two cases were reported by the state over the weekend, but Monday’s twice-weekly report from local officials said that four additional residents have died. Three were in an area hospital and one was at home, according to officials.
The county also reported 34 new cases today, bring the county’s total to 765. One case was reassigned due to residency guidelines, the health department report said.
Three cases were reported July 23, followed by nine on July 24, 16 on July 25, two on July 26 and four today (July 27).
Six county residents are currently hospitalized.
Statewide, 114,338 lab confirmed cases have been reported. Hospitalizations stand air 1,169 as of Monday morning (today) and more than 1.6 million tests have been completed.
