One of Columbus County’s K9 teams successfully located a missing man at Lake Waccamaw Saturday.

The 65-year-old disappeared from a campsite at the state park just after sunset, Chief Deputy Aaron herring of the sheriff’s office said. Park Rangers called for assistance from the sheriff’s office. Sgt. Darius Floyd and K9 Lily found the missing man, following a trail that was three hours old.

The man’s name and physical condition were not immediately available.

In an unrelated case, another missing man was found safely in New Hanover County. The sheriff’s office issued a silver alert for Markel Gore, 22, on Thursday. Gore was safely found in Wilmington Friday night.
