The case could be described as a modern version of sneaking change from grandmother’s purse.
William Carroll, 28, of 838 Bullard Rd., Cerro Gordo was arrested Jan. 8 on 65 charges of obtaining property by false pretenses, according to the sheriff’s office. Carroll was held under a $65,000 secured bond.
Carroll is accused of using a cash app to take $2,190 from his grandmother’s bank account over an extended period of time, the sheriff’s office said.
The grandmother swore out the warrants in the case, according to the sheriff’s office.
