Tips lead to drug roundup

Tips from citizens led to a major roundup of narcotics suspects in recent days, according to the sheriff’s office.

Columbus County Sheriff Jody Greene said in a press release that 12 individuals were arrested on 53 separate charges in a string of raids across the county.

The roundup, called Operation Submit A Tip, came as the result of multiple complaints by citizens, Green said. Narcotics and stolen firearms were recovered.

Among the suspects arrested were:

White

• Shannon McCrue White, 55, 488 Dewitt Lane, Chadbourn – three felony counts sale and delivery of Schedule III controlled substance and two felony counts of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drug activities. His bond was set at $22,500.

• Christopher Lee Hinson, 23, 345 Quail Dr., Whiteville — two felony counts sale and delivery of Schedule I drugs,   one felony count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver a controlled substance, one felony count of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drug activities. His bond was set at bond: $15,000 secured.

Register

• Ricky Dean Register Jr, 37, 353 W.R. Cribb Dr., Chadbourn, felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $2,500.

Carroll

• Junior Scottie Carroll, 49, 329 W.R. Cribb Dr., Chadbourn – one count felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $2,500 unsecured.

Foxworth

• Donivan Jerome Foxworth, 25, – Possession of a stolen firearm and misdemeanor possession of Schedule III controlled substance. His bond was set at $5,000 secured. 

Parker

• Lamar Parker, 19, 8465 Burkhead St., Whiteville – felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver Schedule VI controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of stolen firearm, possession of firearm by felon, felony count of maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for drug activities, and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon. His bond was set at $40,000.

Smith

• Rico Antonio Smith, 36, 24344 Peacock Rd., Tabor City – Felony sale and delivery of  heroin, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver heroin, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drug activities. His bond was set at $17,500.

• Ericah Lenn Gore, 28, 7451 James B. White Hwy., Whiteville – Three counts trafficking in heroin or opiates, two counts possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver Schedule III Controlled Substance, two felony counts of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drug activities. Her bond was set at $75,000. 

Jacobs

• Elizabeth Ann Jacobs, 47, 517 Woodyard Rd., Riegelwood – Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drug activities and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $2,000 secured.

Mason

• Tony Lee Mason, 41, 247 Dessie Rd., Chadbourn  – Three counts trafficking opium or heroin. His bond was set at $35,000.

Ford

• Harold Irvin Ford, 65, 976 Sunset Terrace, Whiteville,- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver Schedule VI controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for drug activities, and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $13,000.

Creech

• Bradley Creech, 45, 1555 Tom Session Rd., Whiteville – Two counts possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, two counts possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, three counts sale and delivery of Schedule IV controlled substance, three counts sell and deliver Schedule III controlled substance, two felony counts maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drug activities. His bond was set at $72,500.

Greene said additional arrests are pending.
