A fundraiser will be held for Johnny Todd of Hallsboro on June 19 at the building beside Pierce and Company on Sam Potts Highway from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In April, “Mr. Johnny” was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung and brain cancer. Todd is lovingly known as the community handyman, and makes the handmade deck furniture and swings sold at Pierce and Company.
The benefit is being hosted by daughter Elizabeth Cressel and family friend Jeffery Jacobs. Plates will include Boston butt or barbecue chicken, two sides, dessert. and a drink. The cost will be $8.50 per plate. The money will go to living expenses and any medical expenses not covered by health insurance. Donations are also welcome.
