911 rerouted after cable cut

Crews are scrambling to repair a fiber communications line after service was cut to 911 this afternoon.

911 service was not lost, the county said. Emergency calls are being rerouted to a neighboring county and dispatched here, according to county spokesperson Amanda Prince.

The emergency communications office as well as some other departments may have been affected, Prince said.

“If you are having difficulties reaching other county departments, please remain patient,” Prince said.
