Second outage in two days closes Whiteville High

Water coming out of the faucet

The second uptown Whiteville water outage in two days caused Whiteville High School to close early today (Wednesday).
The outage occurred on Lee Street from Wyche Street to Lewis Street. An alert from the city said the outage should be restored by 3 p.m.
Residents and businesses in the area may experience little to no water pressure.
An outage on Flowers Pridgen Road caused water shortages to a number of homes on Tuesday. A contractor broke a water main in the area, but crews had the system back in order by late afternoon.
