Some of the supplies donated by the Whiteville Women’s Civic League.

• We’re officially some months away from the holiday season, but giving has already begun in the county, and it probably seemed like Christmas for some furry friends. The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Animal Protective Services attended a meeting of the Whiteville Women’s Civic League to shine some light on some of the things they are doing to improve the shelter. The employees were surprised at the end of the meeting by a generous donation by the ladies. Cat food, dog food, litter, treats, and lots of towels were hauled back to the furbabies to enjoy.
