Mask mandate dropped in county buildings

Reusable masks are available for free at the Columbus County NEws/WTXy offices at 1015 S. Madison St., Whiteville.

Masks and face coverings will no longer be required in county buildings.
Columbus County Spokeswoman Amanda Prince said in an email today (Friday) that beginning Monday, masks will no longer be required in county offices. The only exception is the county Health Department.
The schools set their own policies.
COVID-19 numbers have continued to drop in Columbus County and elsewhere, as vaccinations rates have continued to rise.
