A home and a car were damaged by gunfire over the weekend, but no one was injured, according to the sheriff’s office.
Shannon Riggins told deputies that her Kia automobile broke down Saturday in the 2000 block of Inman Road Saturday. When she returned Sunday to retrieve the car, it had sustained multiple shots, according to the report. Damage was estimated at $10,000.
Another shooting Sunday left a family scrambling for cover in their home.
Anthony Wright Jr. told deputies someone fired on his home on Strawberry Road around 8:15 p.m. Wright, his wife and four small children were inside. No one was injured, and damage to the home was minor.
Both cases are under investigation by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.
