Two men are in jail after allegedly stealing a truck and tools from West Columbus High School on Thanksgiving.
The sheriff’s office said James Adam Brown, 42, and Joshua Williamson, 33, were jailed Dec. 1. Each man is charged with breaking and entering, felony larceny, larceny of a motor vehicle, and conspiracy. Bond was set at $60,000 for each suspect.
Brown and Williamson allegedly enter the auto mechanics classroom around 2:16 a.m. on Thanksgiving, according to the report. They loaded a truck with tools and fled. Employees noticed a damaged door at 8 a.m. and called 911. Entry was attempted on several other doors on the property, according to the report.
Deputies, investigators and the Crime Scene Unit responded. The truck was found around a mile down the road from the school in a field. Using evidence from the truck and by canvassing area residents, investigators identified Brown and Williamson as well as the vehicles they were driving.
Most of the stolen property was recovered, according to the sheriff’s office.
