Southeastern Community College may be winding down from the spring semester, but training classes are available throughout the summer for those who need to expand their horizons or renew a trade license.
SCC will be hosting a Basic Self-Defense class on Thursday, July 7, from 6-8 p.m. This course promotes awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills, safety strategies, and physical techniques that enable a person to escape and survive violent attacks.

For some folks, it may be time to renew your DMV Used Motor Vehicle Dealers’ license. SCC will be hosting a course for this certification on Tuesday, July 12, from 9:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. This class will meet the 6-hour state requirement, and the cost is $75.

Take your notary skills a little further with an Electronic Notary class. This course is designed for individuals who want to become commissioned as an E-notary.
Topics include legal, ethical and procedural requirements of the Notary Act set forth in the General Statute 10B Article 2. Upon completion of this course with a passing exam grade of 80 percent, a person is eligible to make application with the N.C. Secretary of State office. Individuals must have current notary commission to participate in E-notary training.
