Tabor City Mayor Royce Harper thanked Rep. Jones and the Department of Transportation for funding the sidewalk.

“Tabor City has wanted to see the sidewalk out to the Lake for a long time,” Harper said. “With Rep. Jones serving on the Transportation and Budget committees in Raleigh, he was in a position to create a project that will add to our quality of life here in town.”

Harper also complimented Ken Clark, the DOT District Engineer for submitting Tabor City’s request and for advocating so strongly for the sidewalk. “The DOT has worked cooperatively with the town over the past few years, and that relationship means a lot to our citizens.”
