The local chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes is inviting local churches and parents to an event for kids led by kids. The Fields of Faith prayer gathering invites students to share and pray with their peers and challenging them to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ.
Though the assembly is geared toward youngsters, Rev. Dave Heller and the Columbus Baptist Association are putting out the call for church leaders, parents, and guardians to attend to support their youth.
“We are encouraging all of our area churches to move their Wednesday night service on Oct. 11 to Legion Stadium and be a part of this movement of prayer,” said Heller’s Facebook post.
The FCA and the CBA feel that Christians “need to stand firm and encourage one another in our faith.”
Fields of Faith will be held on Oct. 11 beginning at 7 p.m. Legion Stadium is located at 1323 Chadbourn Avenue in Whiteville.
