It wasn’t a good week for Pender County teams on the Columbus gridirons Thursday, as play was pushed up in advance of today’s potential tropical weather.
Whiteville stomped a strong-hearted Heide Trask team, 49-12. It came down to a game of who wanted it the most at Tabor City, as the South Columbus Stallions finally knocked down the Pender Patriots, 37-30.
The East Columbus matchup at East Bladen has been moved to Monday at the Eagles’ Nest. West Columbus has an off day this week.
