The Columbus Baptist Association will be working in cooperation with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Department and the Military Vet Riders Association to sponsor the 2023 Christmas Toy Store for needy families in the area. The economic conditions in the area have increased the number of families that are unable to provide Christmas gifts for their children, so that’s where the Toy Store steps in to help out.
The event is an idea developed to help parents and guardians, many with 4-7 children in the home, to purchase toys for the kids at a reduced price of ten cents on the dollar. This gives the adults the ability to provide their youngsters Christmas gifts. This year marks the thirteenth annual event.
The CBA holds a charity golf tournament to raise money for the store, but donations and volunteers are the main way to make the benefit happen. They currently openings for volunteers as follows:

12 – 4 p.m.- 5 volunteers
- Wednesday, Dec. 6
8 a.m. – 12 p.m.- 4 volunteers
12 – 4 p.m.- 5 volunteers
- Thursday, Dec. 7
8 a.m. – 1 p.m.- 4 volunteers
1 – 6 p.m.- 5 volunteers
- Friday, Dec. 8
8 a.m. – 1 p.m.- 1 volunteer
1 – 6 p.m. 5 volunteers
