A wide range of activities is set for this weekend at the Pecan Harvest Festival in Whiteville.

The 2023 Pecan Harvest Festival will bring bands, a parade, food trucks, vendors and friendly competition – along with all things pecan —  to downtown Whiteville beginning Friday (tomorrow).

Vineland Station will be the center of most of the festivities.

The second annual First Responders Burger Brawl will start at 5 p.m., with judging at 6:30 p.m. The public will get to sample burgers this year and cast votes for the People’s Choice award.

The newly-established  pecan pie contest will offer winners cash prizes ranging from $250 to $50 for the best homemade pies. That contest also starts at 5 p.m.

Rivermist will perform from 5-8 p.m. at the depot.

On Saturday, the car show starts at 8 a.m. downtown, followed by the parade at 10 a.m. The Pink slips will perform starting at noon on the festival stage at Vineland.
