October 12, 1927 ~ January 5, 2024 (age 96)
Allie Orilla (Rogers Swarts) Leigh, 96, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on Friday, January
5, 2024 after a long bout with dementia.
Allie was born on October 12, 1927 to Charles and Lee Orilla Rogers in Tabor City, NC. She
attended school until the 8th grade, then helped with her younger siblings and worked on the
family farm.
She was married twice and survived both previous husbands. In addition to helping with the
family farm, she worked at Columbus County Hospital in Whiteville, NC and spent most of her
life as a homemaker and prayer warrior for God. She loved Jesus and lived to spread the gospel
with anyone she encountered.
She is survived by children Shirley Coleman of Whiteville, NC; Helen and her husband Chuck
Sommers of North Myrtle Beach, SC; and Greg Swarts of Lake Waccamaw, NC, five grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 10, at 2:00pm in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel. A service of Inman Ward Funeral Home & Crematory of Tabor City.
