Deputies were called to a Sam Potts Road home Friday after a man accidentally shot himself.
Robert Marvin Hinson, 77, was shot while answering the door just after 9 p.m., the sheriff’s office said. Hinson had a firearm in his hand as he opened the door, and the weapon discharged, striking him in the thigh.
EMS transported Hinson to Columbus Regional for non-life threatening injuries. An update on his condition was not available.
