Two teenagers escaped injury in a shooting Sunday, but investigators are not sure where the shooting actually occurred.
The sheriff’s office reported that deputies were called to Fries Bay and Wright roads around 5:23 p.m. to assist Horry County Police. The 19 and 16 year old male victims told an Horry County Police officer that a red Dodge Charger with “blacked out windows” began following them on Wright Road, and when they turned onto Fries Bay, the suspects opened fire, striking the victim’s Nissan three times. Deputies found several empty shell casings at the intersection.
The victims filed a report with HCPD, the sheriff’s office said, and were released. Deputies were unable to contact them for further information. The report said it was unclear whether the shooting occurred in Horry County or Columbus.
