A two-decade-old tradition launches at Lake Tabor May 11, as the annual bass tournament kicks off starting at 5 a.m.
First prize is $250, second $175, and third $100.
Registration opens at 5 a.m., with “blast off” at 6 a.m. Weigh-in is set for 2 p.m. The entry fee is $30 per person, which includes the boat ramp fee and lunch.
Judging will be based on five fish per boat, with a minimum 14 inch length. Dead fish will be penalized by four ounces. Ties will be determined by the biggest fish.
Live bait and jiggers are prohibited. Coolers and live wells will be inspected before fishing begins. Boats may not fish within 50 feet of each other, and trolling is not allowed. Participants may only enter and exit the lake at the landing. Anyone fishing on the lake on Friday before the event is disqualified.
