Robeson Murder Suspect’s Truck Found

The vehicle driven by a Robeson County murder suspect was discovered this morning (Tuesday) in a remote wooded area.

Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said Scotti Dewayne Tyler, 38, of Rowland, is wanted for first degree murder and nine counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling. Tyler is 38.

RCSO said in a press release that deputies were called to 1509 Levi Road just before 6 a.m. Sunday to a report of a gunshot victim. Lydia Ann Hoyos, 36, was found shot to death in the home she had shared with Tyler. The couple had two children together.

Tyler’s Ford truck was found by homicide detectives near Old Baker Road and Old 74.

Wilkins called on the community to turn Tyler in to authorities.

“Anyone found to be harboring this guy will be charged with felony offenses,” Wilkins said in a social media post. “Do the right thing, call 911, and report his whereabouts.”
