Deputy Catches Break-in Suspect at Scene

The suspect in a break-in was caught by a deputy on the property Saturday.

Deputy Z. Morris was called to 310 big Branch Road after a caller reported a break-in in progress, a report said. The deputy found a man matching the description of the suspect in the driveway of the home.

The suspect, Marvin Green, told the deputy that the original caller was his sister, Teresa Green. Mrs. Green confirmed her brother’s identity, the report said, and told deputies he was not allowed on the property.

When deputies checked Green for weapons, they found a glass pipe with suspect drug residue in his pocket. He told deputies that it contained both cocaine and marijuana.

Mrs. Green and her niece, who lives nearby, said Green had been staying in the home without permission, the report said. They supplied video recordings that showed Green entering and leaving the property. Green denied the accusation, the report said.

“It was suspected that Mr. Green had been staying in the home without permission due to recent personal circumstances,” the report said.

Green was arrested and charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering, and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $500 secured.
