Grandmother Charged in Child Kidnapping

A toddler who as the subject of a Brunswick County Amber Alert has been found safe, and her grandmother charged with kidnapping and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Jamie Lee Marlow, 49, of 210 S. Shore Dr., Southport, is being held in the Columbus County Detention Center under no bond. She was arrested just before noon Tuesday in Columbus County, according intake records. Marlow was charged with abduction of a child and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. She was transferred to the Brunswick County Detention Center today (Sept. 11).

Warrants show that Marlow is alleged to have taken the three year old on July 1 from her home in Boiling Springs Lakes. Marlow is reported to be the girl’s grandmother. The toddler was found safe Tuesday around 7:45 a.m.
