Churches in Eastern Columbus County paused Sunday to remember the eight victims of the 2006 Riegelwood tornado.
The storm struck a community between Old Lake Road and N.C. 87 in the predawn hours of November 15.
Around 20 homes were demolished. The storm was the deadliest tornado in county history.
