The Blood Connection is hosting the Jenna Jenkins Scholarship blood drive today at Amy’s Academy of Dance Arts in Chadbourn from 1-6. Every donor will receive $40 in rewards, and donations will help fund a local scholarship.
The blood drive is being held in honor of Wayne Watson, the late husband of the school’s founder, Amy Watson. She said that her family had two additional weeks with her late husband Wayne because of blood donations.
“We are so thankful for the people who gave the blood to prolong his life,” she said. “Those two weeks meant the world to us.”
The blood drive is serving two good causes – in addition to collecting badly-needed blood, donations are going to a scholarship for West Columbus High School senior Jenna Jenkins.
Amy’s School, of Dance is located at 129 E. Strawberry St., Chadbourn. The drive ends at 6 p.m. today (Dec. 30).
