Christopher Edwards has been arrested on multiple felonies after a 120 mile per hour chase that left a deputy’s car damaged. Edwards fled the scene of a shots fired call.

Bladen County confirmed a raccoon on Sholar Road is the first rabies case of the year. The deceased animal was revived by Animal Control and sent to the state lab for testing. The Health department did not say if any other animals were exposed to the raccoon.

The Forest Service is offering two state certified prescribed burner classes this year. The class is $25, and will include classroom, virtual learning and field work. Classes are set for May 19-22 and October 20-23. For more information, go to ncforestservice.gov.
